Sober Biohacking: Tools for Sustaining Sobriety and a NEW PROGRAM RELEASE!!
Hello Soberland Project!
As this community is in its infancy phase, I am in constant evolution as I refine what will best serve my both my clients and this community. I believe that sobriety is one of the greatest achievements of my life and something that I am fiercely proud of for myself. The truth of my sobriety is that a great deal of it is a result of biohacking techniques that I have done along the way.
What is biohacking?
Biohacking, in its simplest form, is the practice of changing our chemistry and our physiology through science and self-experimentation to energize and enhance the body. It's a broad definition, but that's also because the concept of biohacking is continually evolving. It can be as simple as implementing lifestyle and dietary changes that improve your functioning, or as extreme as implanting DIY body-enhancements like magnetic implants to change perception. Biohackers, the people who practice biohacking, are constantly exploring new ways to make their bodies and brains function better – from things like intermittent fasting, to electrically stimulating the brain, to self-made genetic engineering.
My husband, Frederic, and I first started experimenting with biohacking after he attended a conference in California with Dave Asprey in 2016. We have always been curious about how the body and mind can be optimized to improve mental and physical performance. This experience validated so much of what we were already doing and opened doors to new and exciting techniques.
Ancient Roots
Biohacking, as a concept, has roots in ancient practices, but the modern iteration of biohacking really started to take shape in the early 2000s. Many biohacking techniques are baed on ancient pracitices such as fasting and meditation. In the late 2000s and early 2010s, the "Quantified Self" movement gained popularity. This involved using technology to track various aspects of your health, like sleep, diet, and exercise. This data-driven approach to health is a key part of biohacking. You may already be doing this with the CGM (constant glucose moniter) or your Oura ring!
Over the past decade, biohacking has become more mainstream. It's now common to see people using wearable tech to track their health, or changing their diet and lifestyle based on the latest scientific research.
Today, biohacking is a rapidly evolving field. New technologies and research are constantly being developed, and the possibilities for future biohacks are exciting and virtually limitless. The history of biohacking is fascinating, it's also a field that's very much focused on the future and what's possible.
So here is the most exciting part... I am creating a NEW program for you about Biohacking!
